Pollen

Have I mentioned my love for pollen?? I love the way my car has been yellow for the last week....I love the way my eyes itch and their new red tint....I love the scratch in the back of my throat....I love the pressure in my head that feels as if my eyeballs are going to pop out of my head.....How much longer will we get to enjoy this wonderful yellow powder???

All kidding aside....I TRULY am grateful that the boys are out of school today (weather day)....so, instead of hurrying and getting ready to drive to school, we are cuddled up on the couch watching some of their favorite cartoons on TLC.

I really am ready to feel better.....this is the only time of the year that I usually feel like crap.

Thanks for reading this cheerful post....Ha!

The Tick

Last night, after the boys took their baths, I was putting lotion on them when I noticed a new "freckle" under Mason's underarm....it took me about 1/2 a second to think "tick". YUCK. It was still very small so he must have picked it up that afternoon somehow. Anyway....you know Mason....he stood in front of the mirror staring at it for about 10 minutes while I called my Dad trying to find out the best way to get it off. It is amazing how the first suggestion men make is, "Burn it off"......UM...Okay.....this is my child's armpit.....Are you going to be the one to explain to DHR why he has 3rd degree burns????? ha....anyway, after looking online, I have discovered Dad...that burning off ticks causes them to release some kind of yucky juice or something so...even if you wanted to burn your own skin...this would not be the best reason to do so. So, after rounding up Mason, who by now is showing off to his brother...."Look at My tick, Jack"....I proceeded to try to remove this thing with tweezers....my first attempt caused something to squirt out at me....Mason's blood or the tick's guts....I'm not sure which.....another YUCK.....second attempt basically decapitated the tick....so Mason now has a speck and a small lump where the tick's head is lodged. No worries, however; as the wonderful pediatrician has assured me that Mason's body will push it out as it would a splinter and just to watch for redness.

That was our excitement for the day :)

Geez.....FINALLY!

Good grief....I CANNOT believe how long it has been since I have posted on here. I got frustrated with Picassa because my pictures were not showing up and have been too busy (or lazy) to find a new place to post them....excuses..excuses...let me see if I can give some kind of update on what is going on with us........

I will be graduating VERY shortly....as long as I pass the rest of my tests....on May 4th :) I have already accepted a job and am very excited to get started there. I have been checking into some of the ASN to BSN programs and am hoping to resume classes this Fall. I have been doing my preceptorship on an L&D unit and that has been fun and gross all at the same time :) I could tell you lots of gross stuff but I want you to want to come back..ha.

The boys are being the boys....Jackson lost the first of three loose teeth...Thanks to Aunt Molly for somehow getting the Tooth Fairy to stop by her house before Jack could even get home with the tooth. Mason has been begging me to go on a field trip that he has coming up, unfortunately it falls on a day that I have class....he even brought me home a "ticket" that he found somewhere and said, "Look Mom....I got you a ticket so you can go to the farm with me"....talk about breaking my heart.....I hate missing their school trips. Jackson is doing very well at school and has just about mastered writing his first name...this is a big accomplishment...to those of you who don't know....Jack was born 9 weeks early and has a few lingering developmental delays....one of which is trouble with fine motor skills.

So....I'm sorry that I don't have any pictures to share....I'll try to take some next week...but, at least, I finally got on here to post something anyway, right????
