Rat Hunting

I just wanted to go ahead and forewarn you all that there will be pictures forthcoming of Rob and the boys prepared for a "rat hunt". At the risk of sounding like we're from Alabama...ha...here's the story....We live in an apartment complex..while a very nice complex, apparently the rats that have overtaken the garbage drop-off place, (what the heck do you call it??) have no idea that they don't belong there. All I can say is "Thank God we live a good ways from that garbage drop-off place" :)....They have been a problem only at night...(it's disgusting and you know I can't drop off garbage at night)....until yesterday, however; when we stopped there and a huge rat was eating something someone had spilled IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY!!! GROSS!! I almost had a come-apart..haha. Anyway, long story short I guess, Rob picked up some BB's at Wal-mart and he and the boys are planning to go rat-hunting this week. Yes, of course they are waiting until it is dark and all office-personnel have gone home....So, I will be posting pictures of the boy's first hunting trip...HA :)

Too Tired to Think of a Title

I am SO tired. I got home from Anniston last night where I, and my nursing class, finished up two full days of terrorism training. Apparently President Bush has declared nurses as first responders to a disaster so this training is mandatory. It was very long, however; interesting and I am hoping to go back to further my training in the future. I went thinking of "terrorists" as people from another country but have returned with the knowledge that two of the most threatening terrorists groups are Americans living right here with us. Anyway...I am really really tired even though I slept until 10:00 this morning which is totally not normal for me. I miss the boys...I haven't seen them since early Thursday morning and now they are at their Dad's so I won't see them until Sunday. They are going to just love me too, by the way, because I have decided they we will be turning off the t.v. on weeknights :) Oh yeah...they are gonna just be so exited...ha.

Still Here

I just wanted to say that I'm still here...I know it's been a few days since my last post...and some of you who know me well just might be thinking..."yep...she's quit communicating already"...so, ha..not so lucky :) The first few weeks of school are always crazy and unorganized for me so my posts may be few and far between for a couple of weeks...maybe not, but just in case. Love to you all.

Just Another Day

Jackson ate vegetable soup at school today...yes, to those of you who know Jackson well and are thinking, "What? Jackson? Vegetable Soup?"...he ate it and then asked for it again for dinner...For those of you who don't know, the boys are fairly choosy about what goes into their mouths...you know...boogers are okay but not mashed potatoes.....anyway...Jack wants to buy lunch at school again tomorrow..I think this is can be attributed to the fact that Jackson has recently been assimilated into a typical classroom and has a new best friend...I think he probablly wants to stand in line with him in the lunchroom and "hey, if he eats it...maybe it is okay".

Mason had his second "fabulous" day at school in a row. He did so well yesterday that his teacher sent a note home about it...Way to go, Mason!

Mommy is not doing so well with the whole school thing right now....I am taking an online Anthropolgoy class this semester, along with my nursing courses, and just remembered that I have a paper due by tomorrow night...sigh...I guess I'll have to break down and buy the book.....

I am off to have my dinner of leftover frozen pizza, and matzos with brie.....YUM :)

So Much for In-depth Feelings....

On the way to school this morning I thought I would do a little brain-prodding to see how the boys feel about me sometimes working at night....unfortunately I didn't realize I would be interrupting "The Circle of Life" playing on the radio........

Mommy: "Hey boys....Does it make you sad when Mommy has to work at night?

Jackson: "Yeah"

Mommy: "So, you would rather I pick you up than one of the girls?" (I am finding this hard to believe as they would readily leave me to be with one of my four sisters anyday)

Jackson" thinking....."Uhhh...No....Could you turn the music up?"

Wonderful conversation.

Mason Says.......

At 6:30 this morning (they are out of school today)....."Mommy...I have a headache so I won't be going to school tomorrow"

Leaving the dentist a few moments ago....."I was nice to the dentist....I didn't growl at him"

"Mommy....Is Godzilla bigger than the devil?" I am barraged with these types of questions all day long....I am at a constant loss for words.

That's How I Roll...

This is my man....cooking me dinner. This is my kind of date....eating a meal cooked by your man and watching a movie. Almost nothing better :)

Cousins

My sister came over with Lacie yesterday.....she just loves Cousin Mason.
**I posted this but then didn't think it was clearly obvious that she was crying...so, in case you were confused, that was sarcasm I was striving for...**

Exhale......

Don't ever say I'm not a great mom. Whose kids are chowing down on Cheetos and watching Godzilla (in Japanese no less)?? Mine, that's whose....getting their dairy and foreign language all in one....right? right? Well...they are drinking soy milk by the cupful so there's one good thing.

Sometimes I miss the days of being able to go straight to the couch after a long day. I had class from 9-1:30 today, went to the Y for an hour of cardio, stopped by Target, got the kids of the bus....all I wanted was to come in and plop down...but, of course, they have needs...and wants...so anyway...finally, I am on the couch. I am lovin the couch right now. Every time I work out I get so tired..must do something to my blood sugar...anyway.

Today, when we got home, Jack hung up his backpack then turned to me and asked, "Mom, why does my butt keep stinking?" Apparently, he has been farting all day....lovely.

Well, I am off to get some mommy nap time while they get their Japanese lesson.

Boots

Look at these boots .....Mom, maybe these would go with that skirt...ha...I love you...I promise

Pictures from the Slumber Party

A few weeks ago, the boys and I along with Aunt Dana, Aunt Toottie, Mom, and a couple of friends had a slumber party. We went to Publix for junk food...while there we raced the car shopping carts....Aunt Dana's buggy full of kids was definitely louder than mine, but really, what else would you expect??? ha. We went back to Granny's...ate junk...watched movies...and stayed up way too late...

Sigh.....

Okay....so I am new at this and it is driving me CRAZY! It sounds lame and I can't put the pictures right where I want them...I don't know if it is even possible to put them in the place you want so I may be spending time searching for answers that I'm never going to find.....anyway...I have more pictures I want to put in but I don't want them clumped all together so since this is a new post and it seems to put the pics at the top of the new post I am going to try to sneak one in...I guess we will see if it works....This is my beautiful niece, Lacie Jai....we were trying to console her through her much unwanted photo shoot...sorry baby....here is her blogspace

Starting This.....

I'm starting this blog so that friends and family can keep up with what is going on with us....you all know that staying in contact is not my greatest strength...ha. Also, since the boys were born, I have wanted to keep some sort of journal of life...maybe this will work. Let me start by kinda going over what is going on right now.
The boys are both in Kindergarten and for the most part are enjoying it. Mason is the outright naughty one...Jackson is sweet but sneaky. I am starting my last semester of nursing school (graduation May 4th...yea!!). I am working at one of the area hospitals here as a patient care assistant...I can pretty much set my own hours so this works out really great with school plus it is helping me get a lot more comfortable at the hospital.
Everyone had a really great Christmas...the boys got a lot of books (we've started reading chapter books recently), Leapsters, and some other stuff. Rob (my boyfriend) gave me satellite radio and spent half a day (at least) installing it...Thanks Rob...I love it :)
My sister had her baby, Lacie Jai, recently....she is so beautiful and she made me an aunt for the first time....I was the last of my sisters to receive this honor....anyway...she is lovely and sweet.
Oh yeah, one night in December, we had a slumber party for the boys and a couple of their friends....we raced the car buggies at Publix and probablly almost got kicked out...but the kids had so much fun. We bought all kinds of junk and watched movies....I think Mason and Claire were up till at least 1:00 but the rest of us were asleep. This was not the only time during the Christmas break that the boys stayed up till midnight...it took a week to get them back on schedule and get rid of the crankies :)
