Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day...UGH!! Sorry..but Valentine's Day always brings back horrible memories from high school where all the pretty and normal girls got roses from their football player boyfriends...but there were never any roses for the wierd, "skirt-girl"...YEAH...I probablly am bitter....so what?????

Okay...enough of that...I got roses this year...so there...:)

I also have to say that if I never see another little Valentine it will be much much too soon. When I was a kid preparing valentines, for school, consisted of tearing along the perforated lines....not so anymore. I folded cardstock into origami-like boxes until my fingers cramped last night because now the valentines come with candy so you have to fold those things so the candy will fit inside...and, of course, Jack goes to TWO classes...so, there must have been close to 50 of those little buggers to fold....it was SO much fun...ha!

Rob walked in with flowers last night...I was really really surprised....as his idea of romantic is "Buffalo Wild Wings"....seriously....I'm not kidding...and I quote, "Hey...you want to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for Valentine's?"...WHAT? Yeah...I want to spend this particular holiday in a sports bar where he has not one but 50 tv's to look at instead of me...sounds romantic, right? Molly, I knew you would get a good snort out of this....

The boys and I walked out for school this morning to find snow flurries...now granted these flakes were about the size of dandruff...but when you are 5 and 6 and live in the South...THIS IS SNOW!!!....they were so excited and talked about it all the way to school....yes..you heard me right....school....In a state where they close early if it "might..possibly" snow tonight at midnight.....they actually stayed open through the 26 degree weather and the snow dandruff today....who can figure it out???

I've started training myself to run...at this point it is every other day...60sec jog...90sec walk....repeat for 20 minutes. Okay, I do cardio 6x a week....and this new routine sounds like it would be easy....my legs are killing me....I have a hard time lowering myself to the toilet....and for someone who pees 5 times an hour this is torture!!! TMI...I know....

And on that....I'll sign off :)

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Really...I seriously mean it :)

The People Upstairs

We have new neighbors upstairs.....they've been quiet until this morning. They have been turning the garbage disposal on and off for the last 30 minutes......I just heard a thud on the floor.......What in the world could they be grinding up???? I am getting the creeps and getting annoyed all at the same time....geez...don't they know I'm studying for my NCLEX????? Any more thuds or screams...I'll let you know.

Coupon Books

Ughh...I have become the relative you shy away from....the one you hide from at family gatherings.....and all it took was a newsletter from the boy's school simply stating, "Children who sell at least 5 coupon books will go to an Out of Class Pizza Party". Enough said. Since I can vividly remember being one of the children who had to stay in the class while others ventured down to the cafeteria for the party......watching with a grumbling tummy while they ran back into the classroom...high on pizza sauce and chocolate milk.....I immediately started calling family asking them to buy $15 coupon books loaded with coupons that sound good right now...but let's face it....most will go unused......sigh...anyway....sorry guys....

Sunglasses

I'm not sure what kind of rays Jackson's glasses are supposed to protect...I should ask him..
I'm sure the answer would be, "laser beams" or "Godzilla's Fire"....

Anyway...this is the boys leaving with Aunt Billie to go roller skating...they actually
ended up camped out in the arcade for the afternoon...imagine that...ha

"Log"

I never ever would have thought I would make my kids play this "game". It is called "Log" and God only knows who came up with it. My earliest memory of this is my Uncle Donnie making me, Scott, and Amy play "Log". The idea is whichever child can act like a log (not move or talk) for the longest...gets a quarter. The other night...we were waiting on Rob to be ready to go the Y and the boys, of course, were ready to go NOW....so, being the wonderful Mommy that I am suggested a game of "Log"....these sweet boys laid on the floor with barely a sound or movement for about 10 minutes.....I didn't think I'd ever do it but....it was a very enjoyable, quiet, 10 minutes :) Oh yeah..
they both got quarters.
